Los Angeles House One:
With very hot summer days, the goal of this project was to cool the
house without having to use an air conditioner. This was
accomplished by using a variety of earth friendly building materials,
and good design. The first picture shows the trellis naked as it is in the winter. This allows the sun to warm the house.
The photo below shows deciduous vines engulfing the trellis and providing shade to keep the house cool in the summer.
